Ford/Lincoln has developed a software update that contains diagnostic checks to detect cell anomalies which may lead to high voltage battery short circuits and adds further safeguards including a coolant pump activation when a thermal hazard is detected, which will limit thermal venting and ensure the safe use of the vehicles.
• With the software update available from August 2026, we will be actively contacting affected customers of Ford/Lincoln Escape/Corsair PHEV vehicles to schedule a service appointment with their dealer/retailer to have this software update installed at no cost with the following effects:
o Enhancement of the vehicle's diagnostic systems: The safety of our customers is a top priority. By improving capabilities to analyze the high-voltage battery pack, the diagnostic system can detect potential anomalies early and provide the driver with an advanced warning on the dashboard.
o Adaption of the battery’s usable energy depending on its health status: Depending on the current health status of the vehicle’s battery, the software will adapt the battery pack's useable energy capacity. This may result in a reduced electric driving range. While the exact change in electric range will vary based on personal driving style and environmental conditions, customers might experience a reduction of approximately 12%.
o No charging limitation: Once the update has been installed, owners no longer need to limit charging. The implemented software update will help to reduce the risk of thermal venting and support the safe use of the vehicle.
2 Reset of all learned vehicle range information: With the software update all information the system provides to the driver, which is based on driving behavior, will be reset. This includes the expected electric range information as well as the fuel economy information. As customers drive, the system will relearn again their driving behavior and adjust the instrument cluster displays accordingly.
The changes implemented with the software have no impact on the technical data including nominal electric range, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle relevant for country specific incentives or tax advantages.
Wunschdenken nennt man das. ![]()

Also Europaweit das gleiche Bild... ![]()
Baujahr? Und die braucht schon das 25SC4 Update?
